Details of holidays
We are always ready to advise on holidays - we want to ensure that you book on a holiday that is right for you. With so many to choose from, deciding where to go and who to book with can be difficult. Our office is manned by experienced leaders, who plan and organise our programme, so you can talk directly to the people who know about the holidays in detail. Whether its information on the wildlife or more pratical aspects, they can give you all the details you need.
Please request a HOLIDAY LEAFLET for any holiday you are considering. This has full details of the itinerary, the leaders and guides, accommodation and travel options. It also has some extra background about the places visited and what you should see, the weather conditions, and any health and fitness considerations. The leaflet shows the price and the deposit needed. With the leaflet you be sent a BOOKING PACK which contains a booking form, the booking conditions and general information.
Making a booking
To secure your place you must contact us to check availability and reserve a place, and then complete the BOOKING FORM and send this to our Tour Operator (see below) with the DEPOSIT. You will also need to ensure you have appropriate holiday insurance at this stage.
Travel options
Most holidays are priced including travel from the UK.
Rail travel is possible for some of our European holidays and we encourage you to consider this option. For many routes from the UK to Europe, we can book your train if you would like us to.
Flights may be the only means of travel to some locations and the choice of UK departure airport may be limited. Alternative flights can sometimes be arranged but there may be additional transfer costs at the destination. We will be as flexible as possible in accommodating your needs.
Accommodation
All accommodation is of a good standard. Our ideal is a small hotel, locally owned, with local character and local food. We also look for accommodation that is 'environmentally friendly'. Larger hotels have only been used where practicalities dictate. All the accommodation has en suite facilities unless specified otherwise. Prices shown on the holiday pages are per person sharing a twin room.
Single rooms are available on nearly all holidays. Unfortunately, we have to pass on the supplement that is nearly always charged. The supplement for a single room (SRS) is given for each holiday.
Food
Most holidays are on a 'full board' basis which includes breakfast and evening meal, usually provided at our accommodation. On some holidays we may go out to local restaurants for evening meals. A picnic lunch, or a café if available, is also included in these holidays. On a 'half board' basis, breakfast and evenings meals are provided. Lunch may be possible at a café or by buying a picnic.
Sometimes we may offer a mixture of full and half board arrangements during a holiday, if this suits the itinerary or to give you more choice.
Insurance
Travel insurance is NOT included in the holiday price. You may use you own travel insurance or we can arrange travel insurance for you through Sunvil Holidays.
In accordance with legal requirements, holidays are organised through a CAA bonded Tour Operator. Our Tour Operator is Sunvil Holidays, a well-established and well-respected travel company. We are pleased to have worked with Sunvil for many years. This safeguards your financial and welfare interests.
Before the trip you will receive a detailed General Information pack about your holiday. It includes advice on what to take, money aspects and confirmation of the meeting details. Leaders will make contact with you to answer any final questions you may have about your holiday.
